Jay Reatard

Yeah I know i'm slow to jump on the Jay Bandwagon. But this guy creates gnarly, dirty garage rock that bursts your eardrums and attacks your senses. I've watched this Sailor Jerry Video of his performance about a million times and it is just raw brilliance. His music makes me want to start a garage rock band.

The Prayers

I posted about the prayers a while ago. They disbanded earlier this year(and were previously part of 'the plot to blow up the eiffel tower'). It has since come to light that their bassist, Willy Graves, died earlier this year. This post is for him.

Gun Street Girls

Gun Street Girls are a band named after a tom waits song. They are dave larkin(dallas crane), dave butterworth(the double agents) and callum barter(ancient free gardeners. They play their first show on christmas eve at the corner with even. Listen to one slip away and sleight is the hand of love.

Asking For It

Asking for it are a self proclaimed gutter punk band from Tassie. I listened to a few tracks from their website and they blew me away. This is the sound of young musicians bashing your ears with unbridled enthusiasm.
