I heard this fucking great song on triple j the other day. It was like a frenetic jam then the lead singer was kinda chanting, talking the lyrics like mark e smith or someone. TURNS OUT THIS AWESOME SONG IS BY A BAND CALLED 'SONGS' the song is different light. listened to their myspace just now and they are playing a show at the workers club with a few other "hip" obscure noise melbourne bands. The only reason im jaded with melbourne bands is cause one time i saw a mates band play with damo suzuki at revolver they were followed by fabulous diamonds, HTRK and love of diagrams. all bands make great music but their fans and associated people were all major indie snobs and i cant stand people who think they are better than others simply because of their beliefs or ideals. Plus HTRK are fairly shithouse, i would never start a band based on how the band looks or how cool the idea of starting a band is. you dont start thihngs based on coolness. you harness you uncontrollable passion and you accidentally become great. you dont just become great because you want to be famous.

The Drones

When I was 8 years younger, I used to frequent the only record store in this tired little beach town. It was run by a couple who were massively into all kinds of music and they even played in there own band, the double agents. Every time I bought a record they would give me another record for a slightly cheaper price but the hook was they would choose that record for me. One day I was given The drones-Here come the lies, which is a classic record and always will be. The drones have come a long way since then.
